Service Area:

A.F.P. Mutual Water Company is a California Corporation incorporated on February 22, 1971. It provides metered water exclusively to property owners in Tract 3423 as per map recorded in book 22 of Maps, Pages 160-169, Kern County, California. You become a shareholder of the Water Company when you purchase land in Tract 3423. The Bylaws are available here AFPMWC Bylaws in pdf format.

Location

The Water Office is located at 18900 Alps Drive, Tehachapi, California. The Tract is located seven miles from Tehachapi, California and consists of 245 acres, divided into 377 lots. A.F.P. Mutual Water Company has four non-paid volunteer Board of Directors that meet every other month to conduct business. All shareholders are welcome to attend these meetings. We have four part-time paid employees; two are in the field for maintenance and two for the running of the Water Office. If you have any questions please contact A.F.P. Standards:

A.F.P. Mutual Water Company meets all California Department of Health testing requirements and has monthly testing results on file at the Water Office or here in pdf format Consumer Confidence Report in pdf format.

Facilities:

At the present time there are 220 active metered water property owners and 16 inactive connected meters. The water system consists primarily of 10 to 8 inch water main lines with 6 to 4 inch service lines. A.F.P. Mutual Water Company provides water to property owners by four ground wells, which pump water to a 210,000 gallon storage tank.

Fire Safety:

There are 25 fire hydrants within the Tract. The Tract is protected by Kern County Fire Department Station 12 which is manned 24 hours a day by no less than three paid firefighters and one 750 gallon engine for immediate response and accompanied by three engines from the surrounding area (Bear Valley & Keene). Station 12 is approximately seven miles from Alpine Forest Park.
